OGC is comprised of several units, five of which are represented on this page: Athletics Compliance, Data Privacy, Enterprise Risk Management, Ethics & Compliance, and Legal Affairs. Matters are generally routed to the designated staff within these units as described below:

  • Athletics Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management have dedicated staff who serve as the primary points of contact for matters within their respective units.
  • Data Privacy matters are handled by the Chief Privacy Officer in coordination with Legal Affairs staff who provide data privacy support for contracts.
  • Ethics & Compliance includes several teams aligned by subject matter:
    • Conflicts of Interest
    • Ethics & Compliance Education (including the Policy Library and Youth Programs)
    • Export Control & Trade Compliance

Each of these teams includes designated staff who serve as the primary points of contact for their respective practice areas.

Legal Affairs is structured into three teams, each aligned with a Georgia Tech Executive Leader:

  • Administration & Finance supports the Executive Vice President for Administration & Finance.
  • Research supports the Executive Vice President for Research.
  • Academic Affairs, Employment & Litigation supports the Provost as well as other executive leaders, such as the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and the Vice President for Student Engagement & Well-Being.

Legal Affairs addresses a broad range of practice areas. Most legal matters are assigned based on the Executive Leader and unit involved. However, some matters—such as Employment and Litigation—are routed directly to designated subject-matter specialists within Legal Affairs, regardless of client assignment.

Contracts are handled within each Legal Affairs subunit, based on the unit supported (e.g., Academic Affairs Contracts, Research Contracts, etc.).
