
Danette Joslyn-Gaul has served as General Counsel for Georgia Institute of Technology since September 2022. In this role, she oversees the Institute’s legal strategy as well as its enterprise risk and compliance functions, providing guidance on a broad range of matters that impact the university community.
Danette brings a wealth of experience from senior leadership roles in higher education, corporate, and government settings. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, she was Global Chief Compliance Officer for Pearson, a UK-based educational publishing and technology company, and previously served as a partner at a labor and employment law boutique in Atlanta.
She also held several leadership positions in Georgia state government, including service as Executive Counsel to the Governor, where she helped codify the HOPE Scholarship and advised on key legal and policy matters. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade as a litigator in private practice.
Danette earned her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College and her J.D. from Emory University, where she was inducted into the Order of Barristers. A frequent speaker at legal and compliance conferences, she shares insights on topics ranging from regulatory strategy to ethical leadership.
She is honored to serve Georgia Tech and is deeply committed to advancing the Institute’s mission through thoughtful, ethical, and strategic legal guidance.
