
Kenecia Powell is a Paralegal for the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) on the Research team in the Legal Affairs unit of Georgia Tech’s Office of the General Counsel. She provides specialized legal support on a range of matters, including FCC experimental licenses, allocated business funds reimbursement, and timesheet compliance audits. Since joining Georgia Tech in 2021, she has contributed to process improvements that enhance efficiency and support institutional integrity.
Kenecia began her legal career at the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, where she supported attorneys in the Education, Elections, Local Government, Judiciary, and Labor and Employment sections. She brings a strong background in legal affairs and is committed to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in service of Georgia Tech’s mission.
Kenecia earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and an M.B.A. from Georgia Tech. She also holds an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate from Clayton State University, is a NALA Certified Paralegal, and has earned both a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and a Certificate in Technology Innovation from Georgia Tech. Outside the office, she enjoys baking and sharing her creations with family and friends.
