
Shannon McGhee is Deputy General Counsel for Administration & Finance and Affiliated Organizations in Legal Affairs, a unit of Georgia Tech’s Office of the General Counsel. In this role, he provides strategic legal guidance on complex transactional matters, including real estate, construction, finance, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and commercial enterprise. He brings more than a decade of public sector experience navigating intricate legal issues and managing institutional risk.
Before joining Georgia Tech in 2024, Shannon served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, where he was a key advisor on commercial transactions, litigation, and system-wide initiatives. He also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia, representing state entities in multimillion-dollar acquisitions, construction projects, and contract negotiations.
Outside the office, Shannon enjoys traveling, fitness, and remaining an Atlanta sports optimist.
