Senior Export Compliance Officer

Shimanda White serves as a Senior Export Compliance Officer on the Export Control & Trade Compliance team in Georgia Tech’s Office of Ethics and Compliance, a unit of the Office of the General Counsel. In this role, she supports the Institute’s export and import trade compliance efforts and ensures adherence to U.S. laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Since joining Georgia Tech in 2021, she has focused on strengthening processes that safeguard research integrity and mitigate institutional risk.

With more than two decades of experience in trade compliance and regulatory interpretation, Shimanda provides guidance to faculty, staff, and researchers across the university. She plays a key role in navigating complex compliance requirements, developing export control processes, and mitigating institutional risk. Her collaborative approach supports Georgia Tech’s commitment to research integrity and regulatory excellence.

Shimanda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Saint Leo University in Florida. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
